A Recap of 2024

2024 has been an incredible year for both my family and work—definitely the best year ever.

Building Pay4Me

• Processed over $9M in transactions.
• Grew to over 100,000 customers.
• Launched USD Virtual Card for international students.
• Launched Global Transfer and Pay a Business features.
• Received ~$200k in venture capital funding.
• Featured on Nasdaq’s iconic MarketSite tower in the heart of Times Square in New York City.
• Recevied the Most Investable Company award from Alabama Founder Fest.
• Received the Trailhead Startup Award from Trailhead in Boise Idaho.
• Sponsored PHPTalks 2024 and Eket Wordpress Meetup 2024 in Uyo Nigeria.

Open Source

This year I published 2 FilamentPHP plugins which has gained massive adoption in the Laravel community.

• Filament Jetstream — a plugin for adding Laravel Jetstream features to a FilamentPHP application with over 20,000 downloads.
• Filament Two Factor Authenticatio — a plugin for adding google two-factor authentication to a FilamentPHP application with over 3,000 downloads.

Writing And Publishing

This year I published an article on the Pay4Me blog on how we solved payment collection and reconciliation issues for Pay4Me customers. You can read it here.

PHP Community (PHPTalks)

This year we hosted the biggest PHP physical conference since the 2020 pandemic in Uyo Nigeria with over 550 attendees. Our online community has grown to over 1000 members.

Litehost Webhosting

This year, I wasn't able to focus more on Litehost as my obiligations continue to increase while we pursue growth for Pay4Me.

Here are some of the numbers we did in 2024:

• 140 new customers.
• Completed 44 order.
• Over ~6.4M in transaction volume which is an average of over N530k every month .

Personal Growth

In 2024, I have seen a lot of growth and progress in my life.

• Celebrated my 28th birthday on the 12th of October.
• My wife and I celerated our first wedding anniversary on the 22nd of July.
• Remained committed and faithful to the christian faith.
• Gave PHP talks in 3 meetups and conferences.
• Attended more spiritual meetings and worship services expecially the Koinonia Experience in Abuja.

Looking Into 2025

I have a lot of goals and expectations for the year 2024, and they include:

• Raise $3.5 million in venture capital funding for Pay4Me.
• Attend Stripe Session and Laracon US.
• Welcome our first son.
• Organise PHPTalks conference in Abuja.
• Build and publish more FilamentPHP plugins.
• Publish more engineering articles on how we are solving cross border payment issues.
